Classes
For those of you interested in learning & expanding your skills, these classes are opportunities to further develop your craft. Classes are available for metal fabrication including welding & forging as well as 2D media (papermache, papermaking, & collage).Please read our class policy at the bottom of the page about refunds, transfers, and cancellations.
METALWORK
Classes are about 2.5 hours with 3-4 individuals & take place at South River Art Studios. Classes cost $175 to learn the basics & the 2 weekend course to build skills is $645.
Intro to Welding - Overview of shop safety & PPE (personal protective equipment), learn how to weld with an oxy-acetylene rig & use a mig (metal inert gas) welder.
Saturdays 2:00 PM - 4:30PM | April 12th | April 26th
The Fabrication Basics (2 weekends course) - Learn the techniques & get comfortable using power tools ranging from angle grinders, metal bandsaws & others for building your project from start to finish. See more details & image below
Forging Foundations - Working with a hammer to forge pieces of metal on an anvil to create square points to form hooks and more! If you have a group of 2 or 3 people interested please email me to coordinate a date/time for your group!
The studio address is 1300 Fleetwood Dr. SE Atlanta, GA 30316. Safety glasses & gloves provided; must wear denim jeans, cotton t-shirt (bring long sleeve shirt), & closed-toe shoes.
Learn how to Make a metal Flower
You’ll learn how to use power tools for metal fabrication, including angle grinders, metal bandsaws, and others, to build your flower.

2D Media
These workshops are best suited for groups of 10-25 children or adults between 1-4 hours, off-site by request (e.g. events, school programs, adult living facility workshops, etc). Prices will vary based on number of participants, activity, location & duration.
Papermache Building - Create a wire armature frame, build form with newspaper & tape, cover in newspaper strips dipped in glue, then dry with blow dryer & paint with acrylic.
Papermaking - Learn to make handmade paper by blending old paper scraps & using a mould & deckle to form paper; add flowers, leaves, gold flakes for an unique look!
2D Collage - Combine various images cut out from magazines, construction paper, & more using scissors then glue pieces on board & seal with mod podge to create collage.

Class Policy
Classes are non-refundable and all purchases are final. Transfers are offered up to 72 hours before the scheduled class date. If you need to transfer to another class please use the contact page to raech out. Due to the limited availability of classes and administrative costs, there is a $35 transfer fee, only available up to 72 hours before your scheduled class date. Within 72 hours before the class date, theclass cost is forfeit and no transfer will be available.*
